The popcorn that Christie made was the dogs bollocks. But no one bought any, so we ended up giving it away. I'll try again next week. But if there isn't much of a market, then perhaps buying an expensive machine isn't going to be worthwhile. But if the machine was cheap, or if we stick with the pan ...

Popcorn on Monday (4/12)

I was talking to one of the volunteers today - Christie - and she gave me her recipe for popcorn. It is 1/3 cup of kernels to 3 table spoons of oil. This never fails, apparently. We can try it on Monday to see how much of a market there is. I'm night managing on Monday, but I also have to pop down t...

You can make popcorn in a pot. I believe it was done like this before microwaves and specialist machines were invented. But neither Nick nor me have ever done it without ending up with some black nastiness at the bottom. And Magda has her heart set on a popcorn machine. It might be an attraction. I ...

That seems OK. With the film programme known long in advance, perhaps we can get volunteers who would like to sit through the films. Or, if the volunteers bugger off early, then we might want 3 film staff on the night.

Yes,I don't think we should go off and live up trees at the expense of making burittos. But we might learn something from anti-roads protesters. And with all these people with similar interests just round the corner, it would be a shame not to build links with them.

I don't want to be all negative, but I don't think there is much we could do at this stage. Any successful action of this kind has to be planned well in advance. The most we could do now is some minor vandalism, which might cost the developers some money, but will just give eco-warriors a bad/worse ...

Don't forget, you need a licence, or you'll end up sharing a cell with the guy you sent down. Now that would be soap opera justice.
