I am going to say this publically and for the record:

This installation MUST be a massive fire hazard and probably should be removed immediately. I am very sorry for not stressing this earlier but I continually had my fears as these pieces were carried in and I just couldn't bring myself to be the bad guy. I like the art. it's awesome. I even like it in the space it is in BUT: flamable shit hanging off walls in a fire exit is, essentially, the text book defination of wrong. Somebody might have a better clue about fire safety than me and might be able to disagree eloquently but I doubt it.

Please, accept my apologies for stating this but part of our august licensce agreement with polis and fire folks is that we are no longer retarded and no longer make these kind of mistakes.

I think many of the forest thought this was actually a painted mural rather than an installation. If for one only had a vague idea of the scope and was repeatedly told that the installation would be high enough up as not to be an obstacale to escape routes.

Keep in mind: Fire guy is coming in on next thurs. to inspect the building for festival stuff. ALSO we get checked EVERY MONTH by the fire boys. If they deem us to have any hazard they can shut us down immediately, revoke all licensces and fuck us for the rest of our lives. This installation is more risky than a summer compost and while I love both things, It is not worth the risk.

I do not want to be a dick, I really don't. The work that went into putting this up was great, it LOOKS great. But it is trouble. I gaurentee.

Discuss immediate removal Please.
