Agreed ftp isn't ideal. Not so much problem with the limited user accounts, but we could do with getting the full access ones deactivated.

I would ban plug in electric heaters and perhaps have a stock of old dressing gowns for people to put on. That's what I do at home to save on heating and it works great.

Yeah, generic remote needs a code entered. Will require instructions for the remote and code for the player, likely from the web.

Ejecting usually means it don't like the disc, so probably more than just the eject mechanism. DVD players are so cheap now that they're almost not worth fixing, although I do hate how disposable we (society) have become about things. You're all mising Jon's point, and he's dead right. The forum is a great thing but it doesn't need a separate forum page for every possible topic. Just makes it more effort to find stuff. They would all naturally divide themselves into threads anyway. Needs flattened, too much hierarchy.
