Sat 9th May 2009 - Night Time Bike Ride to Tyninghame Beach

Post by James » Mon Mar 23, 2009 10:29 pm

Starting 9pm in Bristo Square, and ending up in Tyninghame Beach as the sun rises ..... I did an event like this in London several years ago and it was great. It would be fun to try it here. Would anyone be interested in taking part or helping out? I've already been talking to people about this in person and they seem to like the idea ........

i would be interested if i had a bike. i've asked on various occasions over the last year for a forest bike, but none have been available which is fair enough, unless this has now changed?

I'd love to do it but I'm away that weekend for the scattering of my grandad's ashes.

I'd be really in into this, but my question is, how do you make it take long enough ?

A directish route to Tyninghame from Edinburgh (I've actually cycled it at night before, and it was great) only takes about two and a half hours.
I love the bomb.

Sorry to hear that Mike.

Time: Well, that's up to the people - I was hoping to attract people who aren't great cyclists hence a short route. I just found out today there is a trail into the hills to the south that would take longer, so may be able to prepare two routes, a short one and a long one. I need to investigate. Also thought that hanging round on beach at night with a good crowd of people would be fun, try to turn it into a bit of a party.
