Stall at World Refugee Week (20th June)

Post by HGiles » Tue Jun 07, 2011 10:47 pm

Hey -- Iain Christie who was involved in the Art Auction has this message for us:
As you know I've been involved in organsing an event for World Refugee
Day called Welcome Home

It occurred to me that we really need the lovely people of the Forest
to have a presence at the evening. Would anyone be interested in
manning a stall, giving out info, selling books etc for the Forest.

What we're trying to do is promote and bring together all the different groups be
it race, creed etc. to celebrate diversity. So far we have dancers from Nepal,
performers from Tibet, Ukranian choir, The Sitar Project (Anglo Indian
group), story tellers (missing poets)

We're also having stalls there, a mix of commercial and info, so if
the Forest would like to put up a stall, brilliant, I reckong a
mixture of stuff like books, merchandise and info would be good

20th June 5.30 - 9:00 pm
Anyone up for organising this? Sounds like a good'un!

Hmm, could we not have some of the good folks that did that awesome stall at the voluntary arts week to take some of that stuff to the World Refugee Week? It did look great! We could also have some books, merchandise, print copies our press pack and talk to people about the opportunities at the forest. Could be really good!!

Fantastic idea

It would be really good as the crowd coming, is exactly the kind of people we need to talk to

If I wasn't managing this event I'd man the stall myself, so please come along someone

Iain
