found this while setting up the links for "The Forest on other websites and in the media" on the wiki
http://modblog.tate.org.uk/?p=189
The Forest Café in Edinburgh was for many the touchstone of an adaptable and relaxed space designed by its regulars. And, like the Forest Café, Raw Canvas would like to create a venue that could stay open late, where drinking would be allowed but the focus would be on the community.
wow, and what a space they've got to work with.
hey, if you don't like it, post on the BB (so you can ask about participating for better) |

its nuts!!! good spot!
Maybe it could work? But it will be a kaleidoscopic blend of mysterious shadows and rainbow hued-dreams seen through compassionate tears.

wow, we've been co-opted into the hallowed halls of high art. This is really going to ruin our street cred.

I think we should seriously consider rebuilding a bar. It won't be that one, but Chris said yesterday that it shouldn't be too difficult. Anything would look better than that fridge. Do we really need a display? We could keep cakes in the covered trays which they used to be stored in. Maybe there won't be sandwiches when the menu is changed? Two small bar fridges could fit under the bar for fancy salads and booze. Probably more storage space than the fridge in the display fridge.

We were displaying cakes in front of the till today in those cake thingies to make way for the Euro Soup food. It worked great, and people seemed to be asking for them a little bit more. Maybe because they were nearer to eye level...

Muahahaha - I helped destroy that bar!
Okay, not really destroy, just take down. We held onto it a long while after rebuilding the kitchen. I bet it is kicking around somewhere....
